Last autumn, a workshop with comic artists took place in Erlangen under the patronage of ELINAS to mark the centenary of quantum physics, focusing on the visual representation of quantum phenomena. The result is the exhibition “Quantastic Comics” at ZAM. Complementing this, the lecture offers an overview of previous explorations of quantum physics in comics. These include non-fiction comics, biographies of famous physicists in comic format, fantastical journeys, and several comics based on specific phenomena of quantum physics or containing recognisable analogies to them.
