Lecture followed by a discussion in English with Artur Wabik and Marianna Serocka; introduced by Kasia Prusik-Lutz
Artur Wabik from the Krakow Comic Museum uses visual material to present the distinctive features of the Krakow comic scene as well as the origins of the initiative to establish the Comic Museum in Krakow. He will also explain the broader institutional and cultural context of this initiative, which aims to create a permanent centre for the documentation, presentation and research of Polish comic art. The focus will be on the development of the scene, institutional processes, and the key challenges and contexts of this project.
Following the presentation, the session will transition into a discussion. Marianna Serocka, a comic artist and visual artist working at the intersection of illustration, painting and design, will be invited to speak about her perspective on the Krakow comic scene and her current artistic practice.
Marianna Serocka is the first fellow of the new comic residency at the Krakauer Haus Nürnberg. The residency takes place every two years, coinciding with the Erlangen Comic Salon, and aims to promote exchange between the Polish and German comic scenes.
