Comic artists heeded the call of ELINAS (Erlangen Centre for Literature and the Natural Sciences) on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of quantum theory to engage in a scientific-artistic dialogue with eight quantum theorists. What is it about quantum theoretical phenomena and interpretations that fascinates us today? What stories can be told about them? What visual allegories can be invented? How can spaces of possibility and points of uncertainty be explored through drawing, and how can formulas and experiments be interwoven with art? How do we deal artistically and scientifically with experimental facts, with not knowing, or with not yet knowing? Participants in the experiment have been invited to the panel discussion to reflect together on the unusual exchange and the path to the exhibition. This presents the results of the open experiment: 27 contemporary artistic perspectives on quantum theory.
