The heated debate on migration is increasingly losing sight of those directly affected. Hundreds of thousands of undocumented people live in Germany. They are constantly under threat, exploited and isolated. They are invisible and have no lobby.
In “Shadow Lives”, four undocumented people from different backgrounds recount their lives in Germany. The comic succeeds in telling concrete stories whilst simultaneously protecting those who experienced them through artistic abstraction.
