For people without residence permits, every step in daily life is risky, which is why they usually remain invisible. For six years, comic artist Lisa Frühbeis and journalist Jonas Seufert met with undocumented people across Germany.

Brienne from Thailand escaped forced prostitution and took her boss to court. Dâu experienced exploitation within the Vietnamese community, but also great solidarity. Charlotte from Senegal almost gave birth to her child on the street because she couldn’t see a doctor. And Nasir has been fighting for papers for 25 years, even though the Palatinate is his home.

The exhibition features excerpts, original works and the creation process of the project.

Funded by the Federal Ministry of Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth as part of the federal programme Demokratie Leben!. With the kind support of Medinetz Mainz e. V., Armut und Gesundheit in Deutschland e. V. and Ban Ying e. V.
