Lecture by Steffen Volkmer

In November 1996, the first “The Simpsons” comic book was published in Germany. At that time it was still with Dino Verlag, but already with editor Steffen Volkmer. In 2003, Panini Verlag took over the Springfielders and their editor, and to this day The Simpsons comics are published by Panini – currently as a deluxe collector’s edition and, unfortunately, without any new material – and Steffen Volkmer is still on board. 30 years with the chaotic yellow have left their mark, and there is plenty to tell about the stories behind the stories, the creative minds, signing tours, and all the ups and downs. In this talk, Steffen Volkmer traces the history of The Simpsons comics in Germany, shares some behind-the-scenes stories, explains their origins and production, introduces the creative team, and presents all the yellow madness – so it’s sure to be a real treat!
