Die Frau als Mensch

Enthusiasm for the comic series “Die Frau als Mensch” shows no sign of waning. The first volume was the first comic to win the German Non-Fiction Book Award, whilst the second volume was nominated for the Leipzig Book Fair Award. Experts are just as full of praise as the arts and culture critics. How does one manage to turn academic research into early history – which bases its findings on just a few surviving artefacts – into an exciting comic? And why is this attracting so much interest right now? The comic is nominated for the 2026 Max und Moritz Award.
