The French company Compagnie La Bande Passante invites you to an extraordinary creative workshop focusing on drawing, cutting out and playing with paper figures. Whether on your own, with friends or as a family – together with the company’s artists, you’ll design your own “paper cinema” using drawings from current comics – including the selection for the Francomics Award!
At the heart of the workshop is a magical tool: the Dessinoscope. With this special device, you can move paper figures and draw live under a camera to create your own animated comic sequences. Ready to free comics from their panels? Then join in and transform the ninth art into a living paper cinema!
La Bande Passante was founded in 2007 and is based in Metz. The company develops artistic projects centred on a reinterpretation of documentary storytelling, combining different disciplines to bring intimate and sensitive stories to life. Today, it brings together an artistic and technical team of around 15 people who share a common goal: to tell stories drawn from reality – from objects, archives, images or eyewitness accounts – and to invent a unique form for each project. Every production emerges from a delicate interplay of collected materials and scenic, graphic or sound elements, which are reimagined anew with every encounter.
Suitable for ages 10 and over | Maximum 15 participants. Participation in the workshop is only possible with prior registration at dessinoscopie@dfi-erlangen.de.
