The boundaries between the media of comics or graphic novels / manga, webcomics, children’s books, visual novels and animation are often fluid. The very fact that comics have so many different names already demonstrates how complex the subject is. How can we further break down these fluid boundaries, develop them further, perhaps even invent entirely new types of media – and what influence do comics have on other media that draw on their conventions?
