Walt Disney’s Lustiges Taschenbuch (LTB) contains a broad corpus of literary adaptations in which established characters re-enact the canonical source material. The lecture challenges the consensus that these are ‘parodies’ by reconstructing a dual readership. The actual literary-didactic effect is therefore not the transmission of specific content, but rather the cultivation of a reading attitude: the anticipation that literary worlds outside Duckburg possess a different narrative gravity.
