The Case: Political Satire on Trial

In her graphic novel “The Case”, Zehra Ömeroğlu exposes the absurd mechanisms of state censorship in Turkey. Together with the Egyptian-Sudanese artist Anwar, who lives in exile, she discusses why political cartoons are often the first target of authoritarian regimes and how humour can act as a means of resistance.
