Award Ceremony: The ICOM Independent Comic Award

Since 1994, the Interessenverband Comic e. V. (ICOM) has been presenting this award to the incredibly vibrant publishing and artist scene beyond the established industry giants and publishing groups that rely on reprints of comics imported from abroad. In addition to the three categories “Best Independent Comic (Self-published)”, “Best Independent Comic (Published by a Publisher)” and “Special Award for an Outstanding Achievement or Publication”, this year the “XPPEN Award for Outstanding Digital Comics” will also be presented in an additional fourth category, including two graphics tablets worth 800 Euro and 400 Euro, sponsored by XPPen.
