Artist talk: Tom Gauld

Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1976, Tom Gauld has been drawing comic strips about the world of books for 20 years; for the past ten years, he has also been satirising the world of science. Common to his comic strips are an idiosyncratic perspective, laconic humour, precise wit, a sense of the absurd, impeccable timing and a minimalist style. Tom Gauld’s comic strips are gems of intelligent comic language: week after week, Gauld reinvents the comic strip – playful, astonishing and always funny.
