Generative AI, Comics, Media Aesthetics: A Critical Research Overview

So-called “generative AI” poses major challenges for society – particularly in the creative sector! Drawing on numerous current research projects, Lukas R.A. Wilde from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim presents an overview of intersections with comics research across a wide range of fields: AI characters, AI authorisations and AI interactions – with some perhaps surprising media-aesthetic insights into the current state of affairs.
