Artist talk: José Muñoz

José Muñoz is a legend, a living classic. Born in Buenos Aires in 1942, he was trained by Alberto Breccia and Hugo Pratt before fleeing to Europe to escape the military junta. In 1974, together with his congenial partner Carlos Sampayo, he created the grumpy detective Alack Sinner – with this they revolutionised the comic and are today counted among the most influential comic authors of all time, awarded the Max und Moritz Special Award for an Outstanding Lifetime Achievement in 2002. In conversation with Christian Gasser, Muñoz looks back on key moments in an eventful career.
