Comic silent film concert in drone-doom by Andreas Hartung & The Dunwich Orchestra
One night, a meteorite strikes a lonely farm, and everything changes. For over 10 years, comic artist Andreas Hartung and the musical ensemble The Dunwich Orchestra have been working on their adaptation of the classic tale “The Color Out of Space” by the American writer H. P. Lovecraft.
The result is a unique fusion of images and music. Entirely without words, it tells an intense story of slow decay through hand-drawn images in graphic novel style and a dusty, gloomy, country-esque soundscape in drone-doom. The slowness is not merely a stylistic device, but an attitude. A comic-silent-film concert as an intense experience for all the senses.
