Isabel Kreitz, born in 1967, studied Illustration at the Fachhochschule für Gestaltung in Hamburg. During a semester abroad at the „Parssons-School of Design“ (New York) she decided to become a professional comic artist/ cartoonist. Since then she released numerous comics and comic-strips and is also working on illustrations for books, children´s books, magazines, CD´s, etc. Her book publications include „Die Entdeckung der Currywurst“, „Die Sache mit Sorge“ and „Haarmann“ (Carlsen) as well as comic adaptations of Erich Kästner’s children´s books „Der 35.Mai“, „Pünktchen & Anton“ and „Emil und die Detektive“ (C. Dressler-Verlag). In 2012 she won the “Max und Moritz” Award for “Best German-speaking comic artist“. Isabel Kreitz has been a member of the “Max und Moritz” Award jury since 2014.
