Jan Bintakies began his life in Frankfurt am Main in 1977. At first, he painted with his older sister, who mainly drew horses and tigers on paper. But from the very beginning, the creatures of the underworld and the Mesozoic era populate his brain, which he brings to life in little stories. For a long time, he was more or less unable to hide his obsession. He now works as an illustrator in Hanover. In 2017, he met Matze Ross, and their first book together, "Ein verdammter Handschlag", was published by Splitter in 2023.
