Bela Sobottke (born in 1975) studied communication design and graduated in June 2000 with a diploma, ranking first in his class. In addition to his four-year training as a graphic designer, he has been honing his skills as a comic artist his entire life, a journey that began when he was just a kid, copying Lucky Luke. Immediately after graduation, he started his own business, 2WERK Grafik. In 2008, Bela joined the Gringo family, where he has since published various gritty genre comics. His best-known character is Rocco, the gunslinger who sometimes rhymes and sometimes remains silent, the protagonist of various volumes such as “The Legend of Kronos Rocco.” His most recent album published by Gringo is “Terror 3000.” In addition to Gringo Comics, Bela has published in “U-Comix” and “Cozmic,” among others, and has written various articles about comics for the Berlin newspaper Der Tagesspiegel. His new ten-page comic “Beth Reeves & Old Man Rocco” is currently appearing in Cozmic 11.
