Zehra Ömeroğlu is an award-winning cartoonist, comic artist and visual storyteller with more than 14 years of professional experience. Her work focuses on human rights, freedom of expression and social contradictions, combining humor with critical reflection on political and social realities.

Her cartoons are regularly published in international media such as Le Monde, France 24, L’Opinion, Cartooning for Peace and Le Temps, and are also broadcast on French television.

Ömeroğlu has published three books in Turkey and contributed to several international collective volumes, including publications by Éditions Gallimard. In 2025 she received the Robert Russell Courage in Cartooning Award from Cartoonists Rights and was runner-up at the European Cartoon Award.

She has been invited as a guest artist by institutions such as the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom and Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study. Her work has been presented at international exhibitions and conferences, including the World Forum for Democracy. She currently lives in Berlin. Her latest book, The Case, is an autobiographical graphic novel about censorship and freedom of expression, to be published in Germany and other countries.
