Mullana
Lisa Schmidt is a scientific illustrator and comic artist from Nuremberg, Germany. She teaches Visual Storytelling at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences and Storyboarding at the Faber-Castell Academy in Stein.
Under the pseudonym "Mullana" she has been active in the German manga and comic scene for over 20 years.
When she isn't freelancing on projects about cryptography, data protection, or structural biology, she works on her personal comics in genres like fantasy, action and romance, or explores IT culture, feminism and societal topics. She also enjoys experimenting with interactive comic formats.
At this year's Comic Salon, Mullana will participate in the Comic Seminar to further develop her near-future solarpunk comic "Elementar", will oversee the "Ongoing Comic Jam" project for Comic in Bayern, discuss what can happen when comics extend their reach into other media in "Comics ohne Grenzen", and be available for consultation sessions for up-and-coming artists at the Comic in Bayern booth.
