Ruedi Widmer

*Born in Winterthur in 1973, is a trained graphic designer, cartoonist, illustrator and columnist, and lives and works in Winterthur (CH). Since 2000, he has been a regular contributor to Swiss media such as the Winterthurer Landbote, the Tages-Anzeiger, the weekly newspaper WOZ, the consumer magazine Saldo, as well as the German satirical magazine TITANIC, Das Magazin and many others. He also writes a column for the WOZ and illustrates for various clients, including the Canton of Zurich. He was voted Swiss Press Cartoonist of the Year in 2022 and received the City of Winterthur Culture Prize in 2023. He is the author of several books. His most recent publication, “Verfassungslos — Die Welt, kurz erklärt” (Edition Moderne), was released in 2026.
