Ville Ranta

Ville Ranta, born in 1978 in Oulu, Finland, is one of the most creative minds in Finland’s vibrant comics scene. Together with several colleagues, he founded the publishing house Asema; his graphic novel “Célébritiz,” based on texts by Lewis Trondheim, was named Best Graphic Novel by France Télévision in 2006. “Paradise” was Ville Ranta’s first German-language publication—since then, the following have followed: “Kajaani” (2022), “How I Conquered France” (2025), and the most recently published “How the King Lost His Head” (2026).
