Jindřich Janíček
Jindřich Janíček was born in Znojmo in 1990. He is a graduate of Tomas Bata University in Zlín and the Studio of Illustration at UMPRUM. A sought-after book graphic artist and illustrator, he is a winner of the Czech Grand Design award. He won a Muriel award for best drawing for his comics documentary "B jako běžec" (R for Runner, 2021), about running races in the United States. In 2022, he published the illustrated travelogue "Na západ severozápadní linkou" (Westward by the Northwest Line) about a trip to the northwest of the USA and British Columbia. The book will be published in German in 2026 by Rotopol Verlag. He is also co-author of the comic series "William & Meriwether", which was published in German by avant-verlag in a translation by Katharina Hinderer. His works have been translated into Dutch, Hungarian and Korean. Together with his wife, graphic designer Nikola, he is co-founder of the independent publishing house Take Take Take.
