“Give the boy a piece of paper and a few pencils and he will occupy himself all day.” In fact, this saying from his mother in the 1960s makes a pretty good life motto for an illustrator and comic artist. Dietmar Krüger was born in 1959 in Plettenberg in the Sauerland region of Germany. In fact, he can't remember ever not drawing. He studied graphic design in Münster from 1985 to 1990 and graduated with a very good degree. Since then he has created illustrations for a wide range of clients and events. To name a few: Pabel-Moewig, Bastei, Ravensburger, Schneider, Fit For Fun, Focus, Bild and Men's Health. Since the early 2000s, he has been giving courses and workshops on drawing, illustration and comics. He also lectures on illustration, perception and symbols. From 2007-2009 he had a monthly two-page comic strip in MOVER magazine, and in 2012 his comic "KIM LUNA - The Curse of the Anabaptist" was published. As time allows, he is working on the next Kim Luna volume and other projects of his own. In terms of recent work, he would like to highlight his annual poster for the Görlitz Old Town Festival, which he has been designing since 2009, his Perry comic "Perfekt² - Perfect Past" and the cover illustration for the ICOM Yearbook slipcase 2000-2021. He lives and works in Münster with his wife and son.
