Kaydee Artistry
Kaydee Artistry (Kristina Stroh) is a comic artist, author, illustrator and lecturer from the Rhineland – and feels most at home somewhere between morbid fascination and a loss of narrative control.
Her work tends to dwell in the shadowy realms of horror and science fiction: broken worlds, subtle threats, strange artefacts and characters who have usually already gone one step too far. In doing so, she combines narrative depth with a visual style that does not shy away from becoming uncomfortable at times.
Her background is as multifaceted as her stories: she studied history, prehistory and early history, as well as communication design – a mix that is clearly reflected in her work. She has been working freelance since 2012 and is constantly developing new narrative universes that blend apocalyptic themes, the occult and dark fantasy.
Her work has appeared in publications including Cozmic, Die Toten, Monstress, JAZAM!, SUMI and Futurequake. She is currently working on projects such as “Project Rebirth”, “Mitchell’s War”, “Devil in Disguise” and the apocalyptic comic “After the Shifting”. And even when there is no major project on the horizon, the next story is always brewing somewhere in the background – often for publications such as Horrorschocker or Cozmic.
When she’s not tearing worlds apart or putting them back together again, she’s a dog mum, hosts endless cook-up evenings, and gets just as absorbed in games. Music is part of it too, somewhere between inspiration and escapism.
