One of the key areas of study within the Design Department at Folkwang University of the Arts is illustration. The project-based course within the eight-semester Bachelor’s degree in "Intermedia Design" fosters an experimental approach to design and encourages critical thinking. The Master’s programme in “Intermedia Design” provides scope for individual artistic practice and theoretical reflection in the design fields of narration, publication and interaction. The purpose of the programme is to develop critical authorship and an independent artistic approach.
