The German EDITION 52 is an independent comic art publisher from Wuppertal (ICOM Award 2003). Alongside US - and Franco-Belgian works, they also do promote German talents like Jamiri, Ulf K., Jens Natter, and Andreas Eikenroth. One focus is on history & social critique graphic novels: Woyzeck, Engels, or Der Kopf der Hanse. Migration is reflected in Baru's graphic novel trilogy Bella Ciao (2021–24). A new highlight (2026) is Du schaffst das! by the cartoonist Piero Masztalerz, who won three awards in late 2025.
