Ariane Cloutier
Ariane Cloutier is a Montreal-based comic book author with a degree in Graphic Design [UQAM, 2018]. When she’s drawing, she feels just like a child in a sandbox; she plays with shapes and visual metaphors to tell offbeat stories with humour and sensitivity. Last year, she illustrated the children’s book "L’étrange histoire du chevalier Gaspard" (Text: R. Brouillard) with Les 400 coups and the novel "Marie Réparatrice" (Text: L-P. Hébert) with La Grenouillère.
She is currently an artist-in-residence at the Internationales Künstlerhaus Villa Concordia in Bamberg to work on a graphic novel. This two-month residency is offered in collaboration with the Bavarian State Ministry of Science andthe Arts (StMWK) and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec(CALQ). Ariane also participates at the International Comic Seminar Erlangen.
