Jia You

Jia You was born in Sichuan in 1988. She studied successively at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and the Kassel School of Art and Design in Germany, focusing on painting, design, and visual communication. Early in her career, she worked at animation and gaming companies in the fields of background and character design. Gradually, she shifted her creative focus to comics and illustration, developing her own visual language through storyboarding and visual storytelling. While in Germany, she participated in projects at a Risograph printing workshop, creating short comics and small-format publications. Concurrently, she began independently conceptualizing and producing her own series of works, drawing upon observations from her daily life as source material. Currently, Jia You works as a freelance illustrator and comic artist in Berlin.
