Thomas Wellmann, born in 1983, has been working as a freelance cartoonist since completing his communication design studies at the University of Applied Arts in Düsseldorf. He draws backgrounds, characters and storyboards for animated series such as "Clarence", "Adventure Time", "Summer Camp Island" and "The Fungies". He also writes and draws his own comics and occasionally creates video games with friends, such as "Miracle Merchant". His comic debut "Der Ziegensauger" was published by Rotopol in 2011 and brought a breath of fresh air to the German comic scene with its loose lines and humorous narrative style. Since then, Thomas Wellmann has published six more books with Rotopol, including three volumes of his children's comic series "Nika, Lotte, Mangold!" and the stories of his comic series "Pimo & Rex". As an illustrator, Thomas Wellmann works for magazines and newspapers, including Polle, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Der Spiegel and ZEIT Leo, and illustrated the children's book "Oma zu verkaufen" by Martin Baltscheit (Kibitz Verlag). He lives with his family in a small house near Münster.
