Elke Renate Steiner
Elke Renate Steiner, born 1971 in Bremen, lives in Berlin. Studied Fine Arts and Visual Communication in Münster/ North Rhine-Westphalia, and several comic seminaries in Erlangen.
Drawing live i.a. for CSD Cottbus e.V. (Cottbus Pride), AIDS-Hilfe Lausitz e. V. as well as the working chamber Saarland, and running comics workshops i.a. in Erlangen, Berlin, Kristiansand and Saint Petersburg. Participant of the projects "Respect – International Comix" and "Picture Politics" of the Goethe Institutes.
Member of Illustratoren-Organisation (Illustrators Organisation) IO. Publications: "Love Migration" (with Quarteera e. V. 2019), "Die anderen Mendelssohns - Karl Mendelssohn Bartholdy" (Reprodukt, 2015), "Die anderen Mendelssohns – Dorothea Schlegel, Arnold Mendelssohn" (Reprodukt 2004), "Rendsburg Prinzessinstrasse – die Geschichte einer jüdischen Kleinstadtgemeinde" (Edition Panel 2001 / Jüdisches Museum Rendsburg 2022) and the much discussed "Ärztebiografien" ("physicians´ biographies", Deutsches Ärzteblatt), and short stories (Panel Ambixious Comix, Moga Mobo).
She also gave workshops at schools in Erlangen in 2026 as part of "Comic macht Schule".
