Rotopol presents: Katharina Kulenkampff – How I Became a Grey Dog

In the exhibition accompanying her book “Wie ich ein grauer Hund wurde”, comic artist and illustrator Katharina Kulenkampff uses charmingly abstract animal figures to tell the moving and humorous story of an inner conflict. We encounter the grey dog, who is pursued at every turn by a nasty voice. Even the smallest moments of joy are spoiled, advice is torn to shreds with sharp-tongued remarks, and doubts are sown. The comic entertainingly exposes the difficult-to-fulfil and often contradictory social expectations we place on ourselves. On display are original drawings, textile works and objects that offer an insight into the artistic quest for inner serenity.
