Sergio Ponchione can look back on an international career with releases in France, Argentina and the USA. Since his debut in the 1990s, he has built up a steadily growing fan base. His major works include Oblique, Grotesque, Maltese Footprints and DKW - Ditko Kirby Wood. DKW is now being published under the title "Memorabilia" as Ponchione's first book in German. He has worked in advertising and as an illustrator and has designed the cover for the 50th anniversary of the Italian comic magazine Linus, among others. In 2009 he won the Gran Guinigi Award at the Comic and Games Festival in Lucca and the Attilio Micheluzzi Award at the Napoli Comicon 2012. Since 2005, he has taught at the Scuola di Fumetto in Asti, his home town, where the new FuoriLuogo cultural space dedicated a permanent exhibition to him in 2017. In 2022, he is working on Mercurio Loi, a monthly series for the Bonelli publishing house.
