Oliver Ottitsch has been drawing and entertaining those around him since his school days with wicked punchlines and cheeky jokes, as an antidote to the impositions of a merciless existence. Instead of gaining bad marks for this behaviour, he nowadays receives awards. Most recently, in 2022, the ICOM Special Award at the Erlangen Comic Salon for his cartoon and comic book "Die Liebe ist stärker als der Tod" (Scherz & Schund Fabrik), or in 2023, the German Caricature Award in bronze. Ottitsch lives in Austria and publishes internationally. His new work "Smiley von hinten" (Alibri Verlag) will be presented at the Erlangen Comic Salon in 2026.
