Julia Zejn
Julia Zejn, born in 1985, lives and works in Leipzig. She studied communication design with a focus on illustration and animation. Since 2013, she has been working as a freelance illustrator, including on various theater productions. During this time, she increasingly devoted herself to drawing comics. Following several short-story comics, her debut, “Drei Wege” (Three Paths), was published in 2018 by avant-verlag. It is a graphic novel about the lives of three women in Germany, each set 50 years apart: 1918, 1968, and 2018. This was followed by “Andere Umstände” (2021, avant Verlag) as well as contributions to the comic anthologies “Wie geht es dir?” (2025, avant Verlag) and “Stell dir vor” (2025, avant Verlag). In 2026, “Die Summe seiner Teile,” created in collaboration with Matthias Lehmann, was published by Reprodukt.
