Born in Karlsruhe in 1964, lives in Munich, studied applied graphics in Vienna and painting and graphics in Munich. From 1990 motionless movies. The stories about the mouse Moses are shown in the form of slides with crossfade later in beamed image sequences and are told in an idiosyncratic English. Beside performances in Munich the shows were presented in New York, Berlin, Hamburg, Vienna, Lucerne, Kassel and several times also in Erlangen. From December 1998, Gunter Hansen and Steffen Haas created "Das Küken, die Maus und Bier" for the Munich In-Magazin. In the following years, Hansen and Haas worked on several cartoon series together, e.g. for Truckillu, Hofbräu and the Pschorr Restaurant at the Viktualien market in Munich. Haas created further comic series solo for a Scandinavian truck manufacturer and together with the author Joachim Schulz for the Schwarzwälder Bote newspaper. He also created works for anthologies and magazines, numerous book publications, among others by Knaur, Randomhouse and Haffmans. Exhibitions for instance in the Valentin-Karlstadt-Musäum, in the Beer- and Oktoberfest Museum, in the gallery Truk Tschechtarow (all in Munich), in the Stadthaus Ulm, the gallery Holzhauer Hamburg and the Mannheimer Kunstverein. Awarded prizes in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Teaches as a freelance lecturer in the International Munich Art Lab.
