Jens Harder, born in 1970, studied graphic design at the arts college of Berlin-Weißensee and is now working as a freelancing graphic artist and illustrator in Berlin. His first published work - the dialog free comic story "Leviathan" - was released by French publisher Sud in 2003 and received the Max und Moritz-pries in 2004. The first part of his evolutionary history story "Alpha ...directions", was first released in France before it was published by Carlsen in 2010 and was once again awarded a Max und Moritz-Preis. Harder also received the Hans-Meid award for book illustration for the same work. The second part of the 4-part story - "Beta... civilisations volume I" was released after four years of working on it. In 2018 he came out with his comic version of the epos "Gilgamesch", followed by the third part of his series "Beta ...civilisations volume II".
