Sascha Hommer was born in 1979 and lives in Hamburg. He studied illustration and communication design at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg) under Anke Feuchtenberger and ATAK. He is a co-founder of the comic anthology "Orang" and has served as an editor on several issues of the comic magazine "Strapazin". Sascha Hommer taught for many years at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences until he moved to the Kassel Art Academy in 2025, where he has been teaching illustration and comics ever since. His publications include “Insekt,” “Im Museum 1: Die Treppe zum Himmel,” “Vier Augen,” “Im Museum 2: Archive des Zerfalls,” “Dri Chinisin,” and “Spinnenwald.” Most recently, in 2024, “Das kalte Herz” was published by Reprodukt, an adaptation of what is arguably the best-known fairy tale by the German Romantic writer Wilhelm Hauff.
