Christian Schmiedbauer
The award-winning author and illustrator Christian Schmiedbauer lives in Augsburg on the banks of the River Lech. He is the creator of the honored graphic novel „Menschen am Fluss“ (People at the River)—a graphic diary about a journey from the source to the mouth of the Danube (Volk Verlag).
For almost a quarter of a century, Schmiedbauer's funny comic strip "Kauboi und Kaktus“ (Cowboy and Cactus) has been delighting readers: first in self-published booklets, then as a multimedia internet strip with background music—also named one of the 11 best German webcomics by the German news magazine "Spiegel Online“—and now as an opulent double-pack anthology published by "Schwarzer Turm."
Schmiedbauer will read the funniest comic stories from his two “Kauboi & Kaktus” anthologies, “Return of the Good, the Bad and the Ugly” and “Revenge of the Dirty Dancers” at the International Comic Saloon—on Friday, April 5, from 3:30–4:30 p.m. in the Grand Hall of "kubic", live in front of an audience by a digital campfire, accompanied by "Tarantino" music.
