Christian Schnalke spent most of his youth at boarding school drawing, and went on to study literature and philosophy. He has written several novels and also works as a screenwriter. At Christmas 2024, ARD aired a film about Johann Sebastian Bach based on his screenplay. Christian Schnalke lives with his family in Cologne.
