Bettina Bexte grew up in Hamburg and studied illustration and animation at the University of the Arts in Bremen. She has lived and worked there ever since.

Bettina Bexte usually finds inspiration in the cafés where she goes to work. Conversations at the next table or passersby spark all sorts of ideas in her. She then draws until she has created a suitable cartoon. 

Her work has appeared in publications such as Stern, taz, Weser Kurier, Spiegel Online, Titanic, Eulenspiegel, Süddeutsche Zeitung, and the children’s magazine Gecko. She has published books with Carlsen Verlag and contributed to cartoon anthologies published by Lappan-Verlag.

“In allem ein Stück zu Hause” is her first graphic novel.
