Darcy Van Poelgeest is an award-winning writer and filmmaker who is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He is renowned for his poetic and thought-provoking storytelling across various media. His comics have been published by BOOM! Studios, Dark Horse Entertainment, and Image Comics. Notable works include the Eisner Award-winning series “Little Bird” and the Harvey Award-nominated series “Precious Metal”.

Three new works are set to be released in the US in 2026: “The Cutting Garden”, created with watercolour artist Erin Connally and published by Image Comics; “The Karman Blade”, created with Ian Bertram and also published by Image Comics; and a series from DC Comics, which will be announced shortly.

Cross Cult has published “Little Bird” and its prequel “Precious Metal”, as well as “Critical Role: The Tales of Exandria – The Bright Queen".
