I am Stefan Roth, also known as STERO, and I work as a cartoonist, illustrator, and draftsman. At the core of my work is drawing as an independent artistic form of expression—a connection of observation, condensation, humor, and attitude. I am interested in what can be made visible with just a few lines: the nuances of everyday life, human peculiarities, social tensions, and subtle contradictions that often reveal their full impact only in the drawn image.

My cartoons and illustrations arise from careful observation and the attempt to translate complexity into a clear, poetic, or pointed visual language. Humor is not an end in itself, but a form of insight: it creates distance, opens up new perspectives, and makes even serious or contradictory subjects accessible. Between satirical sharpness, narrative lightness, and graphic reduction, I search for images that can be both immediate and ambiguous.

What matters to me is the signature of the drawn line—the vitality of the stroke, the rhythm of the composition, and the personal trace visible in the process. In an increasingly standardized visual world, I see drawing as a conscious artistic practice: conceived analog, executed digitally, and carried by a distinct visual language.
