Marie Geissler
Marie Geissler lives in Berlin with her family and works as a freelance illustrator. She studied Visual Communication, specialising in illustration, at the Bauhaus University in Weimar and in Valencia, Spain. She has illustrated numerous children’s books and loves immersing herself in times gone by. She is currently illustrating an archaeology series for children published by E. A. Seemann Verlag, based on texts by the archaeologist and author Silke Vry. For Tulipan Verlag, she created large-format collages for a children’s book about the life of the poet Mascha Kaléko in 1920s Berlin. Her first graphic novel, about the teenage resistance fighter Walter Klingenbeck during the Nazi era, was recently published. She is also the resident portrait artist for Berlin-based Jaja-Verlag, which publishes her family planner every year.
