Jörg Menge

Jörg Menge was born in Leipzig in 1960. From 1983 to 1988, he studied painting/graphics at the Berlin Weissensee School of Art and has been working as a freelance painter/graphic artist ever since. In 1988, he received a scholarship from the Berlin Senate and ran the youth art school "Haus am Anger" in Falkensee for three years. From 2002 to 2010, he was a professor of visual communication and graphic design at the German Film School, University for digital production and then lectured in graphic design at the Berlin Media Design Academy for two years. In 2011 he took part in the Berlin Film Festival with Bootsmann Production and the film "Sommerfrei". Jörg was represented at the International Film Festival for Animated Film 2013 in Bogota with the animated film "Satisfaction". Other projects include the animated film for the Hasso Plattner project "Campus Jungfernsee" in 2014 and the co-founding of "Bootsmann Games" in 2018. In 2020, he published the graphic novel "Hokioi" together with Max Menge at Hinstorff Verlag Rostock. Exhibitions and symposia have taken Jörg Menge to France, Sweden, Senegal, the USA, Russia and Austria, among others. Works of his architectural art, such as wall and glass paintings, can be found in many private and public spaces and his paintings and drawings are part of various private and public collections.
