Luise Mirdita, born in 1994 in Freilassing, studied illustration at HAW Hamburg with a focus on children’s books and comics. She currently lives and works in Munich.
In 2023, her comic debut, "Schattenspiel" (Shadow Play), was published by Schwarzer Turm; the book comprises 296 pages. In 2024, it was honored with the ICOM Independent Comic Award in the category “Best Children’s or Youth Comic” and with the GINCO Award in the category “Heartfelt Comic.” In 2025, her new project “Ingrid und Paul,” written and initiated by Ingo Haeb, was published by Jacoby & Stuart.
The artist is passionate about creating emotional works. At the heart of her stories is always the theme of interpersonal relationships: how we interact with one another, in all its complexity and vulnerability, runs like a common thread through her projects. She often incorporates fantastical elements that serve as metaphors for emotional or social themes. Nevertheless, her narratives always remain grounded in everyday life.
