Matthias Lehmann, born in Dresden in 1983, completed his studies and master's degree at the Dresden University of Fine Arts. He wrote and illustrated the comic "Claude Monet" (Prestel Verlag), publishes zines and is regularly featured in the comic anthology "Jazam". In 2019 he was awarded the Ginco Award for the "Best Short Comic". In 2021, Reprodukt published "Parallel" - a work with which he was one of the finalists of the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung Comic Book Prize in 2018. His critically acclaimed book debut "Parallel" (2021, Reprodukt) not only placed him among the finalists for the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung Comic Book Prize, but was also nominated for the prestigious Max und Moritz Award. The book was also published in the comic nations USA and France. With "Zur Sonne" (Reprodukt), he followed up with a sophisticated episodic comic in 2023. The youth thriller "Ich und Tod Detektei" (with author Patrick Wirbeleit) is published by Kibitz. Matthias Lehmann lives with his family in Leipzig.
