The war in Ukraine has been raging for over two years now. In the meantime, however, the attention of many in the media has shifted to the next, more current crisis - but people are still being killed every day in Ukraine, fearing for their loved ones and trying to lead a halfway normal life in the midst of war.
Eighteen months ago, Titus Ackermann - curator of the exhibition and publisher of MOGA MOBO - decided to create a book with Ukrainian comic artists. The works published in the book and many others will be exhibited for the first time at the Comic Salon. Ukrainian journalist Katerina Sergatskova, who helped Ackermann create the anthology, states in her foreword: "This book is not here to tell you how important it is for Ukraine to win this genocidal war (...). You will understand that anyway. It is made for you to see and understand what it is like when a foreign country comes into your house and tries to rob you of your home, your loved ones and your ordinary happiness."
