Jonathan Kunz
Jonathan Kunz is a writer, illustrator, lecturer and publisher based in Saarbrücken, Germany. Over the course of nine years, he developed the Master's programme in Comics/Graphic Novels at the University of Fine Arts Saar (HBKsaar), which was awarded the Max and Moritz Prize for Best Student Publication in 2018. Beyond teaching, Kunz is committed to promoting comic culture in many ways: he founded the Polly publishing house in 2021 and organised the first Saarland Comic Award in 2024. As a board member of the International Children's and Young Adults' Book Fair, he advocates for the visibility of graphic storytelling among younger generations. He also works as a creative industries consultant and speaker. Together with Elizabeth Pich, he forms the webcomic duo War and Peas. At the Dock 11 Saarland Comics booth, he presents the work of the following artists, among others: Isabelle Jasten, Jeff La Rocca, Holger Zeck, Stefan Behrendt, Johannes Karpp, All99nines, Kevin Schneider (Kevin's Kammerkunst), Denys Kovalenko and Alena Braune.
